Four players share lead after 2nd round

DHAKA, Dec 16, 2022 (BSS) - Four players shared lead in the points table with maximum two points after the 2nd round games of the Bangabandhu 47th National Chess Championship now being held at Bangladesh Chess Federation hall-room.

They are reigning national chess champion GM Enamul Hossain Razib, GM Ziaur Rahman and FM Tahsin Tajwar Zia of Bangladesh Ansar and IM Mohammad Minhaz Uddin of Bangladesh Navy.
 
GM Niaz Murshed & IM Mohammad Fahad Rahman of Bangladesh Ansar and CM Manon Reja Neer of Bangladesh Police earned 1.5 points each.

GM Razib beat FM Subrota Biswas. He played with black pieces, chosen the Sicilian defense and game continued to Rossolimo variation and eventually won the game after 35 moves.

GM Zia beat FM Khandekar Aminul Islam of Bangladesh Navy. Zia played with black pieces in Queen's Gambit Declined and won against FM Amin at 26 moves.

IM Minhaz beat FM Mehdi Hasan Parag of Bangladesh Ansar. IM Minhaz played with white pieces against Sicilian Defense of FM Parag, the game continued to the Sozin variation and he won the game at 40th moves.

FM Tahsin beat CM Md. Shawket Bin Osman Shaon. FM Tahsin played with white pieces against Slav Defense of CM Shaon and he won at 40th move.

CM Neer split point with IM Fahad. CM Neer played with white pieces to chosen the Scotch game system and drew with IM Fahad after 51 moves.

GM Niaz beat Hrishin Talukder of Chattogram. GM Niaz played with white pieces to chosen the English Opening and defeats Hrishin at 30th moves.
 
GM Reefat Bin Sattar of Bangladesh Ansar beat Anata Choudhury. Reefat played with white pieces against Sicilian Defense of Anata and eventually he won at 50th moves.

The 3rd round matches will be held tomorrow (Saturday) from 3 pm at same venue.
