RAJSHAHI, Dec 11, 2022 (BSS) – A Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Research Center is going to be established in Rajshahi University (RU) aimed at practical teaching for the students of the department of veterinary and animal sciences.

Vice-chancellor (VC) Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar inaugurated the construction works of the centre at premises of the Agriculture Faculty Building today as chief guest.

Pro-VCs Prof Sultan-Ul-Islam and Prof Humayun Kabir, Dean of the Veterinary and Animal Sciences Faculty Prof Jalal Uddin Sarder, Agriculture Faculty Dean Prof Abdul Alim and Fisheries Faculty Dean Prof Istiaque Hossain were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, VC Prof Golam Sabbir said students and researchers of the veterinary and animal sciences faculty will avail the scopes of practical learning through the hospital and centre.

Practical knowledge is very important for veterinary learning and students of the faculty will get scopes of gathering practical knowledge through the hospital.
 
Research opportunities for the MS, M Phil and PhD researchers will be generated besides animal treatment.

Students of the DVM courses can also do internships.

 As a whole, competent veterinary doctors will be created in the region, the VC expected.
