DHAKA, Dec 7, 2022 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of former Political Adviser to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Bangabandhu Parishad President Dr S A Malek.

In a condolence message, the minister prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family, said a press release.

Malek, also former lawmaker from Faridpur-1 constituency, breathed his last at the intensive care unit (ICU) of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Hospital at 11.30pm on Tuesday at the age of 88.

He is survived by two sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and admirers.
