RU professor Sujit Sarker passes away

 
RAJSHAHI, Nov 8, 2022 (BSS) - Sarker Sujit Kumar, a professor of the Department of Bangla in Rajshahi University, died at Saint Martin in Cox's Bazar early this morning.
 
He was 66. Prof Sujit breathed his last around 4.30 am while he was travelling to Saint Martin with his family members.

After obtaining a PhD degree from Rabindra Bharati University in India in 1995 Sujit Sarker joined Rajshahi University as lecturer in 1998. He was promoted to professor in 2019.
 
During his academic career, Prof Sujit earned fame among his colleagues and literary friends through his dedication.

In addition to his teaching profession he was involved in various social, literary and cultural organizations for a long time.

Meanwhile, Rajshahi Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton and RU Vice-chancellor Prof Golam Sabbir Sattar and Pro-VC Prof Sultan-Ul-Islam and many others expressed their deep shock and sorrow at the death of Prof Sujit Kumar.
 
They prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
