President for joint-work with Brazil to bolster trade, investment

DHAKA, Nov 1, 2022 (BSS) - President M Abdul Hamid is keen to work jointly with his Brazilian counterpart to bolster bilateral ties, particularly in trade, economy, investment, knowledge-sharing and technology for the mutual benefit of the two friendly countries.

Hamid, in a congratulatory letter wrote to Brazilian President-elect Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, this evening said, "On this auspicious occasion of your historic victory in the Presidential election of Brazil, on behalf of the people of Bangladesh, and on my own behalf. I convey our heartiest congratulations to you."
 
President Hamid said Bangladesh highly values Brazil as a longstanding trusted partner in South America and said, "We have developed and fostered friendly relationships based on our shared values, respect for democracy and secularism".
 
He added: "Our alignment of the economic, environmental and cultural interests and global issues like climate change, women empowerment, sustainable peace and development have been strengthening the ties between Bangladesh and Brazil over the years in multilateral fora."
 
Hamid wished Brazilian President-elect good health, happiness and success and continued peace and prosperity for the people of the Federative Republic of Brazil.
