DHAKA, November 1, 2022 (BSS) - The Dhaka University authorities have decided to introduce the 'Teaching Evaluation' program in a bid to improve the overall quality of education and achieve maximum professional skills of its teachers.

This decision came from the university's Syndicate meeting on October 30 at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhavan, with DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md. Akhtaruzzaman in the chair, said a press release today.

Students can participate in the evaluation process through an online form which will have 5 indicators and some corresponding sub-indicators, added the press release.

Initiatives have also been taken to organise special seminars and workshops for both the teachers and students on the parameters of teaching evaluation.

In the meeting, the university authorities also decided to enrol students for its master's program though an admission test against limited seats from 2022-23 academic sessions.

To apply for the master's program, applicants must have a Bachelor's (Honours) degree from a Public University or any university approved by the Unversity Grants Commission (UGC).

Besides, a decision was also taken to establish 'Dhaka University Nanotechnology Centre' (UTGHI), an inter-academic, inclusive specialized research institute, with the aim of taking the country's science, technology, research and innovation to unique heights in the era of fourth industrial revolution and nanotechnology.
