DHAKA, Oct 9, 2022 (BSS) - President M Abdul Hamid today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey Padak winning artist and Dhaka University Fine Arts Faculty Professor Samarjit Roy Chowdhury.

In a condolence message, the President prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Professor Samarjit Roy Chowdhury breathed his last at a city hospital here this afternoon at 85.

He had been suffering from cardiovascular and lung ailments for long.
