Indian President, PM greet people marking Eid-e-Miladunnabi

   NEW DELHI, Oct 9, 2022 (BSS) – Indian President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi today greeted Indians and Muslims in particular on the occasion of Eid-e-Miladunnabi paying their tributes to Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) for his service to the humanity and for his teachings of peace and harmony.

   “Prophet Muhammad gave the message of kindness, simplicity and service to humanity to the world. His message inspires each of us to move forward on the path of harmony and fraternity,” the Indian President said in a message on the eve of the occasion.

   Murmu added: “May we get inspiration from the life of Hazrat Muhammad and take a pledge to continue striving for the progress of our country by living in mutual harmony”.

   She extended greetings to all of her fellow citizens, “especially the Muslim brothers and sisters on the auspicious occasion”.

   The Indian premier greeted the nation on the occasion saying “Best wishes on Milad-un-Nabi. May this occasion further the spirit of peace, togetherness and compassion in our society. Eid Mubarak”.

   “Greetings and best wishes on Eid-e-Milad. May the festival be full of peach, joy and good health for all,” India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar said in a tweet.

   Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended as well warm greetings to the people of the state on the occasion expressing his hope that this festival would give new inspiration to enhance peace and harmony in society.

   Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal extended greetings to the countrymen on the occasion “Happy Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi to all the countrymen”.

   “Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH) Sahib always gave the message of mutual brotherhood, peace and human service. His thoughts are inspiration for entire humanity,” he tweeted in Hindi language.

   Former President of Indian National Congress Rahul Gandhi extended greetings to the people saying “Eid-Milad-Un-Nabi Mubarak! May this auspicious occasion bring peace, harmony, good health and prosperity to everyone.”

   He said Indian National Congress also uploaded a message in its official tweeter page greeting the countrymen on the auspicious occasion of holy Eid.e-Milad-un-Nabi.

   Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, is celebrated annually to commemorate the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the month of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, the third month of the Islamic lunar calendar while the day simultaneously marks his physical demise.
