DHAKA, Sept 13, 2022 (BSS) - Pro-Awami League (AL) 'blue panel' teachers today swept Dhaka University syndicate, academic council, and finance committee elections by securing 13 posts out of 13.

The white panel, backed by BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, failed to secure a single post in the polls. Six representatives were elected to the syndicate while six to the academic council and one to the finance committee.

The elected syndicate members are - Dr Md Abdus Samad (Dean Category),
Dr Md Masudur Rahman (Provost Category), Dr Md Nizamul Hoque Bhuiyan (Professor Category), Abu Hossen Mohammad Ahsan (Associate Professor category), Mohammod Sharif Ul Islam (Assistant Professor Category) and Mrs Mahin Mohed (Lecturer Category).

The academic council members are - Dr Ishmat Rahman, Mrs. Mandira Chowdhury and Bipul Chandra Debnath from Associate Professor Category while Dr. A.S.M. Monjur-Al-Hossain, ABM Asrafuzzaman, Md. Momin Islam from Assistant Professor Category.

Dr. Md. Shafiqul Islam of applied mathematics department was elected to the finance committee. DU treasure Professor Dr Momtaz Uddin Ahmed was the chief election commissioner of the polls.

DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman visited the polling centre at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the campus during the election.
