DHAKA, Sept 9, 2022 (BSS) - The Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a member of the banned militant outfit Ansar-al-Islam from Narayanganj.

The arrestee is Md Rabbi, Amit Kumar Das, assistant police commissioner of the CTTC unit told DMP news.

He said that with the help of information technology and modern equipment, he conducted a drive at Faluttah in Narayanganj district and arrested Rabbi at about 3:10 on Thursday.

The police also seized one mobile phone and two SIM cards from his possession, Amit said.

Police sent Rabbi to court seeking remand after filing a case with Ramna Model Police Station against him.
