CHATTOGRAM, Sept 3, 2022 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting minister Dr Hasan Mahmud today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of  Khalekun Noor Sikder, former leader of Kaptai upazila AL and elder brother of Rangunia Upazila Awami Jubo League president Shamsuddoha Sikder Arju.

In a condolence message, Hasan, also the Awami League joint general secretary, prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

The information minister said Sikder upheld the spirit of Bangabandhu and the great liberation war throughout his life. He was a skilled organizer and a dedicated politician at the party's grassroots level. He has been a shining example in dedicating his life for the welfare of the local people, Hasan added.

Former vice president of Kaptai Upazila Awami League Khalekun Noor Sikder died at a city hospital on Saturday at 2.30 pm at the age of 68.

He left behind his wife, three daughters, one son, well-wishers and a host of relatives to mourn his death.
