Bangabandhu saved Bengali nationality: BRUR VC

RANGPUR, August 31, 2022 (BSS) - Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh

Mujibur Rahman has saved Bengali nationality and given stability to the
nation through snatching away its independence.
 
"So, the Bengali nation is grateful and eternally indebted to Bangabandhu for
protecting their nationality by giving impendence," said Vice-chancellor (VC)
of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) Professor Dr. Md. Hasibur Rashid
here today.
 
Dr. Rashid said this at a award distribution ceremony of the essay
competition as the chief guest organised by BRUR marking the National
Mourning Day-2022 and 47th martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation
Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
 
The VC said that the heinous killing of Bangabandhu and most of his family
members on the fateful night of August 15, 1975 is the most despicable and
brutal murder in the history of human civilization.
 
"Assassination of Bangabandhu has humiliated Bengali nation and fatally
damaged our image in the international arena," he said.
 
Pro Vice-chancellor of BRUR Professor Dr Sarifa Salowa Dina and its Treasurer
Prof Dr. Mojib Uddin Ahamed attended the function as special guests.
 
Convener of the National Mourning Day Celebration Committee-2022 of BRUR and
its Dean of the Faculty of Science Professor Dr. Md. Gazi Mazharul Anwar
presided over the ceremony arranged at the academic building no-2 of the
university.
 
Director (Current-charge) of the Office of the Student Affairs Md. Nuruzzaman
Khan moderated the event.
 
Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof Dr. Abu Saleh Mohammad Wadudur Rahman,
Cafeteria Director Umar Farooq, Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies Prof
Dr. Md. Matiur Rahman, Teachers' Association President Md. Shariful Islam and
its General Secretary Syed Anwarul Azim, General Secretary of Officers'
Association Mohammad Ali, among others, spoke.
