Shahab Uddin for checking air, sound pollution

 
DHAKA, July 31, 2022 (BSS) - Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Shahab Uddin today stressed checking air and sound pollution through implementation of ongoing projects of the government.
 
"We have to check air and noise pollution in the country by implementing the ongoing projects," he told a virtual meeting.

The monthly meeting was organised to review the implementation progress of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) of the ministry for fiscal 2021-22, a minister press release said.


Shahab Uddin said optimum priority should be given to the conservation of the world's largest mangrove forest, the Sundarbans. 


An action plan, which is implementable for the whole year, should be taken from the beginning of the year, he said, adding that all sectors must work towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) declared by the United Nations.


"To overcome the global crisis, we have to work for the development of the country being imbued with patriotism. As per directives of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country should be taken forward by implementing the action plan," the environment minister said. 

He said works must begin from the beginning of the year to fully implement the development programmes of the government.

"We have to work with sincerity and professionalism," he added.
