DHAKA, July 29, 2022 (BSS) - A school boy was killed as a police wrecker hit his motorcycle in city's Paltan area last night.

The deceased was identified as Mahatab Uddin Tasin, 16, son of Md Abdur Rashid hailing from Manodgaon village under Lohajang thana of Munshiganj district.

Mahatab was a student of class 10 at Cambrian School and College, Keraniganj branch.

He used to live at house number-25/A located at Wari Street near Baldha Garden in the city.

Police Inspector Bachchu Miah, the camp-in-charge of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, confirmed the death of the student to BSS.

According to police sources, the accident took place at gate number 3 of Bangabandhu National Stadium under Paltan police station at around 10 pm on Thursday.

The wrecker of police hit Mahatab in the area, leaving him critically injured, police sources said.

Later, he was taken to the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital where the doctor on duty declared him dead around 11:15 pm.
