Eighteenth session of 11th parliament prorogued

DHAKA, June 30, 2022 (BSS) – The eighteenth session of 11th parliament was prorogued today after twenty sittings as the session begins on June 5 following all the necessary health guidelines amid fourth wave of the Corona pandemic.
 
Before read out the prorogation order of the President, Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury has elaborately  presented about the inauguration of the multipurpose Padma Bridge and its successful implementation.
 
Leader of the House Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina delivered her valedictory speech at the closing session of the 11th parliament.  

Opposition leader of the Parliament Raushon Ershad gave her concluding speech at the House before a day of the concluding session.

Then a documentary on the background of the Padma Bridge construction was displayed in the house presented by the Roads and Bridge Division.

A total of 228 treasury and opposition bench lawmakers delivered their addresses during the session. The eighteenth and the budget session of 2022 was continued for 38 hours and fifty-seven minutes. A total of four bills were passed in the session.

Along with the legal procedure, a total of 39 important notices under section 71 of the rules of procedure were received. One notice was received under section 162 while another one notice also received under section 62.
 
A total of 81 questions were available for the Prime Minister’s question and answer session where only 41 questions were answered by the PM during the session.

During the question answer session, only 1,311 questions were answered by the ministers under different ministries with some 1,645 questions were received for the session.
 
Before reading out the prorogation order, the Speaker thanked all the MPs of treasury and opposition benches.
 
She also thanked all the MPs, officials, journalists, law enforcers  and fire service and civil defense personnel for their services for smoother holding the parliament session.
