Govt working to build smart digitalized country by 2041 :lawmakers

 
DHAKA, June 15, 2022 (BSS) – Lawmakers today said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to build a ‘smart digitalized Bangladesh’ based on information technology by 2041.
 
Taking part in the general discussion on the proposed budget for 2022-23 fiscal in the Jatiya Sangsad, the lawmakers said, information technology has already changed the country’s economy by implementing vision 2021 and now the government is working to build a smart digitalized one by adopting technology effectively by 2041 under vision 2041.
 
Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal on June 9 in the JatiyaSangsad unveiled a Taka 6,78,064 crore national budget for 2022-23 fiscal setting the GDP growth target at 7.5 percent amid the economic fallout due to the novel corona virus pandemic coupled with ongoing Ukraine-Russia war.
 
“With the effort of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the country now becomes a digital Bangladesh in last thirteen years.”The government is now implementing a long term plan led by information technology advisor to the Prime Minister SawjibWazed Joy on how to make a smart digitalized Bangladesh by 2041,” said State Minister for Information Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak.
 
Under the plan, he said all the essential services including power supply, farming, education services and water resources will be operated digitally with the implementation of smart digital system. “The smart digital system will help to introduce efficient resource management and prevent wastage in these sectors,” Palak told parliament.
 
Lauding the proposed budget, Minister for Foreign Affairs AK Abdul Momen said the proposed budget of FY2022-23 will help to revitalize the economy of the country which has already been jeopardized due to the stress of pandemic.
Terming the proposed budget as pro-people, Habibur Rahmanof Sylhet-3 said the proposed budget will help to increase food production and also create employment.
 
Participating in general discussion on proposed budget, AbdusSalam Murshedy of Khulna-4 said the budget is pro-people and realistic considering the pandemic and the war between Russia and Ukraine.
 
Criticizing the role of BNP, the ruling party lawmaker the BNP lawmakers in parliament including its secretary general Fakhrul Islam Alamgir always make falsehood against the government as to humiliate the government and make falsehood is their only duty.
 
Treasury bench members, Shamsul Haque Tuku of Pabna-1, Abu Zahir of Habiganj-3, Aftabuddin Sarker of Nilphamari-1, Abul Kalam Mohammad Ahsanul Huque Chowdhury of Rangpur-2, Abdul Momin Mondol of Sirajganj-5, NesarAhmed of Moulvibazar-3, Moazzem Hossain Ratan of Sunamganj-1, Ali Azam of Bhola-2, Begum Merina Jahan of Sirajganj-6 and Ahmed Feroz Kabir of Pabna-2, took part in the discussion.
 
Earlier, they paid their cordial tribute to the memory of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, four national leaders, martyred freedom fighters and also those who made their utmost sacrifices during the War of Liberation and all subsequent democratic movements in the country.
