Light to moderate rain likely

DHAKA, June 12, 2022 (BSS) - Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today predicted that light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind may occur at different parts of the country in 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershower with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," said a met office bulletin issued here.

"Trough of low persists over Gangetic West Bengal. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and moderate over North Bay," it also said.

However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Monday was recorded 36.0 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and minimum temperature today was 22.3 degrees Celsius at Rajarhat.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 74 mm at Netrokona.

The sun sets at 6.47 pm today and rises at 5.10 am tomorrow in the capital.
