Mild heat wave may continue in four districts

DHAKA, June 8, 2022 (BSS) - The ongoing mild heat wave is likely to continue in four districts, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9am today.

"Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Khulna, Satkhira, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue and spread," said a met office release here today.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershower with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions; at a few places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions and at one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at isolated places over northern part of the country," the met office bulletin said.

However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 37.0 degrees Celsius at Khulna and minimum temperature today was 22.0 degrees Celsius at Netrokona.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 104 mm at Srimangal.

The sun sets at 6.45 pm today and rises at 5.10 am tomorrow in the capital.
