JS adopts condolence motion over death of UAE’s ruler and other distinguished persons

DHAKA, JUNE 05, 2022 (BSS) – The Jatiya Sangsad today unanimously adopted a condolence motion expressing profound grief over the death of second president of the United Arab Emirates(UAE) Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jayed Al- Nahian.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury moved the condolence motion at the outset of the eighteenth session of the 11thparliament held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here..

The parliament also adopted condolence motion due to death of a former minister, a former state minister and six parliament members. The deceased includes former finance minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith, former State Minister for Water Resources Advocate Gautam Chatterjee, ex-member of parliament Zubed Ali also a organizer of the liberation war, BM Nazrul Islam MP of Satkhira-1,Shah Zikrul Ahmed of Brahmanbaria-5, Professor Dr Khandoker Abdul Jalil of Shariatpur-2, Ashika Akbar MP of Tangail-1 and Begum Parvin Sultana MP of reserved women seat-15 of third Jatiya Sangsad.

The parliament also expressed condolence over the death of an office assistant  of the parliament secretariat Rahima Khatun.

 Besides, condolence was poured at  the jatiya sangsad over the death of noted columnist and Journalist Abdul Gaffar Chowdhury who was also a writer of famous song’Amar Baiyer Rokte Rangano Ekhushey February,former Inspector general of Police veteran freedom fighter AKM Shamsuddin, noted reciter Hasan Arif, noted lawyer of Kishorganj district advocate Shah Azizul Huq, noted journalist Mostafa Kamal Pasha, veteran freedom fighter of Rangpur district Mojibar Rahman Dulu and veteran freedom fighter Mozammel Huq, noted businessmen Kazi Ekramullah, elder brother of ruling party presidium member  Kazi Jafar Ullah, former cricketer Mosharraf Hossain Rubel and noted Bollywood singer Krishna Kumar Kunnath.  

The jatiya sangsad expressed condolence on the fatalities who were killed in gun fire at Texas in the United States, aircraft crush in Nepal and causalities in different places across the world.

Moreover, the house also expressed deep shock and prayed eternal peace to the almighty for those who had been lost their lives due to accident at different places in home and abroad.

Later, the obituary motion was unanimously adopted by the house, prayed for eternal peace of those deceased and observed one-minute silence  munajat as mark of respect to the departed souls.
