Sadhan for forging social movement against drug abuses

NAOGAON, May 9, 2022 (BSS)- Food Minister Sadhan Chandra Majumder, MP, has
called for forging social movements against abuse of drugs along with its
illicit trafficking and trading.

He said the drug addiction cannot be checked through only conducting raids
and punishing the addicts and traders. That's why forging social movements
has become crucial against the social menace.

The Minister was addressing the district law and order committee meeting at
the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) today as the chief guest.

He urged the district and police administrations to become careful about
bringing the entire criminals in this field to book as soon as possible.

Sadhan Majumder said all the local government institutions side by side with
the public and private bodies should come forward and work together to attain
the cherished result in this regard.

He said the present government has a declaration of zero tolerance against
drug-addiction and urged all quarters to come forward to protect the young
generation from the grip of social crime.

"We have to build a healthy society to achieve sustainable development
goals," he said.

With DC Khaled Mehedi Hassan in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among
others, by Superintendent of Police Abdul Mannan Mian.
