DHAKA, April 13, 2022 (BSS) -  A total of 23 lakh people, aged one year and above, will receive two shots of oral cholera vaccines in Dhaka city from next month. 
 
"The first dose of cholera vaccine will be conducted in May while the second dose will be given in June," Dr Nazmul Islam, spokesperson of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) told a virtual briefing today.

Oral vaccines developed for diarrhoea and cholera will be provided in five places -- Jatrabari, Dakshinkhan, Mirpur, Mohammadpur and Sabujbag -- in the capital. Pregnant women will not be allowed to receive the vaccine, Dr Nazmul added.
