Rain likely in parts of country

DHAKA, April 11, 2022, (BSS) - The met office today predicted rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind at some places across the country in the next 24 hours as of 9 am tomorrow.

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions with hails at isolated places during the time, said a met office release here today.

Moderately heavy (23-43 mm/day) to heavy (44-88 mm/day) rainfall is likely to occur at places over Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, it also said.

During the next 72 hours, the bulletin predicted that the rain or thundershowers activity is likely to continue.

Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Sunday was recorded 35.8 degrees Celsius at Raujshahi and today's minimum temperature was 19.5 degrees Celsius at Dimla.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded 53 millimetres (mm) at Srimangal.

The sun sets at 6.19 pm today and rises at 5.40am tomorrow in the capital.
