DHAKA, April 4, 2022 (BSS) - Five students of the Mass Communication and 
Journalism Department of Dhaka University (DU) today received 'Editor Abdus 
Salam Trust Fund' scholarships for their excellent academic results in 
undergraduate examination.

Besides, retired professor of DU Mass Communication and Journalism department 
Prof. Samsul Majid Harun received 'Lifetime Achievement Award' for his 
contribution to the journalism at a programme held at the Muzaffar Ahmed 
Chowdhury auditorium of Social Science building at the university.

DU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman handed over the award and 
scholarships among the recipients as the chief guest, with Chairman of the 
Mass Communication and Journalism department Prof Dr Abul Mansur Ahmed in the 
chair. 

Journalist Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul presented the memorial speech on the 
occasion while DU Treasurer Prof Dr Mamtaj Uddin Ahmed addressed as special 
guest at the program, conducted by Professor Robaet Ferdous.   

The recipients of the scholarships are Md Shohag Ali, Shopna Perveen, Md 
Khokon Ali, Jobayer Ahmed and Md Abdul Malek.
