Two-day science fair ends in Rangpur

RANGPUR, March 16, 2022 (BSS) - The two-day district level Science and
Technology Week and Science Fair-2022 ended through a discussion followed by
a prize distribution function on the Public Library ground in the city on
Tuesday evening.

     The district administration organized the event under supervision of
National Science and Technology Museum and patronization of the Science and
Technology Ministry marking the 43rd National Science and Technology Week and
Science Fair-2022.

     Earlier on March 14 last, Divisional Commissioner Md. Abdul Wahhab
Bhuiyan launched the fair in the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest.

     Thirty secondary and higher secondary level educational institutions set
up 30 stalls on the fair premises projecting diverse scientific projects,
research activities and innovations and ICT-based technologies.

     Deputy Commissioner Md. Asib Ahsan addressed the discussion and
distributed prizes among winners of different quiz and science olympiad
competitions arranged in the fair as the chief guest.

     Presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) AWM
Raihan Shah, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of
Begum Rokeya University Professor Dr. Mizanur Rahman and Rangpur Press Club
President Mahabub Rahman addressed the function as special guests.

    The speakers expressed satisfaction over the huge interest of the
participating young students in the fair in science and technology-based
modern education and scientific innovations they projected in the event.

   Mahabaub Rahman called upon authorities of educational institutions to
inspire the young generations in science- and technology- based modern
education to make them prepared for the fourth industrial revolution to
attain sustainable national development.

     Professor Rahman stressed on popularization of science- and ICT-based
education among young students to attain the sustainable development goals by
2030 on the way to build a developed Bangladesh by 2041.

     The chief guest said the government has taken pragmatic steps to
popularize science and technology-based education among the young generations
to further accelerate the pace of national development.
