Programs taken to celebrate historic March 7 in Rangpur

RANGPUR, Mar 6, 2022 (BSS)-The divisional, district and police administrations, Awami League (AL) and its associate bodies and other socio-cultural organisations have chalked out programs to celebrate the historic March 7 in the city tomorrow.

The historic March 7 will be celebrated in a befitting manner through paying rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with a fresh pledge for building a developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Him.
 
The celebration will begin with hoisting of the national flag followed by placing of wreaths at the portrait and mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and playing of the historic 7th March speech of Bangabandhu and discussions.
 
The divisional and district level high officials will first place wreaths at Bangabandhu’s mural at Bangabandhu Square and attend a discussion at Town hall auditorium in the city.
 
Mayor of Rangpur Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa with high officials and City Councilors of Rangpur City Corporation will place wreaths there.

The District Shilpokola Academy will organize different competitions for children and prizes will be distributed among the winners of the competitions in celebration of the historic day.
 
The district and city units of AL, its associate bodies, including Chhatra League, Jubo League, Swechchasebak League (SSL), Krishak League, Sramik League, socio-cultural and professional organisations will celebrate the day through various programs.  
 
The programs include hoisting of national and party flags, placing wreaths at the portrait and mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and rallies and discussions to pay rich tributes to Bangabandhu and four national leaders.
 
After hoisting national and party flags and placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu at their respective offices, leaders of district and city units of AL and its associate bodies will bring out a rally and place wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu in the city.
 
Patriotic songs will be rendered and the epoch-making historic 7th March speech delivered by Bangabandhu on this day at the Race Course Maidan, now Suhrawardy Uddyan, in 1971 will be played across the city throughout the day.
 
The main discussion will be held at the party's district unit office at Betpotti area in the city with President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed in the chair.
 
General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu said the day will be celebrated to further consolidate national unity like that in 1971 to realize Bangabandhu’s dream of building a Sonar Bangla under the able leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
