465 more Covid-19 patients recover in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Feb 24, 2022 (BSS) - With the healing of 465 more patients

from the Covid-19 on Wednesday, the total recovery count in the division rose
to 1,12,666 since the pandemic began in March, 2020.

     A total of 79 more people have tested positive for the deadly virus in
seven districts of the division on the day, raising the caseload to 1,18,708
so far.

     The new positive cases are showing a little bit of a falling trend
compared to the previous day's figure of 96, Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder,
divisional director of Health, said.

     The death toll remained static at 1,743, including 704 in Bogura, 340 in
Rajshahi with 219 in its city and 179 in Natore, as no new fatality was
reported during the last 24 hours, he said.

     Besides, all the positive cases of Covid-19 have, so far, been brought
under treatment while 25,929 were kept in isolation units of different
dedicated hospitals for institutional quarantine. Of them, 22,427 have been
released.

     Meanwhile, 68 more people have been sent to home and institutional
quarantine afresh while 177 others were released from isolation during the
same period.

     Of the 79 new infected cases, 33 were detected in Natore, followed by 24
in Sirajganj, eight in Pabna, five in Rajshahi city, four in Bogura, three in
Naogaon and two in Joypurhat districts.

     With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the
total cases now stands at 33,856 in Rajshahi including 27,856 in its city,
6,501 in Chapainawabganj, 7,693 in Naogaon, 9,829 in Natore, 5,645 in
Joypurhat, 24,881 in Bogura, 13,683 in Sirajganj and 16,640 in Pabna
districts.

     A total of 1,24,588 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine
since March 10, 2020 to prevent community transmission of the deadly COVID-
19. Of them, 1,22,101 have, by now, been released as they were given
clearance certificates after completing their quarantine.
