In-person classes resume at DU 

DHAKA, Feb 22, 2022 (BSS) - The Dhaka University authorities today resumed in-person classes for all students of undergraduate and postgraduate levels after a month of suspension.  
 
Besides, all the academic and administrative offices of the university reopened fully while all scheduled examinations of different departments and institutions are being held following health guidelines.
 
“From now on, classes, examinations and all other academic activities of the university will be running in full swing maintaining health guidelines strictly. Both health safety and future of the students are equally important for us,” DU Vice Chancellor Dr Akhtaruzzaman told BSS.  
 
“From the beginning of Covid-19 outbreak, we have been trying always to find out new ways to run academic activates smoothly whatever the situation was and whatever challenges we had to face,” he said.
 
Earlier, we had taken recovery plans to make up for the academic losses caused by the long closure due to the Covid-19 pandemic, he furthered.
 
Classrooms got back its original shape after long as the in-person classes, finally resumed at the university, said Shafat Rahman, a final year student of DU Mass Communication and Journalism department. 
 
In-person classes are always more interactive and participatory which is the beauty of a classroom, he said, adding “During online classes, many students could not participate in classroom discussions because of poor internet facility.”     
      
DU authorities on January 21, suspended in-person classes till February 6 amid a surge in Covid-19 cases which was later extended till February 21.
