ASL distributes blankets among cold-hit people in northern districts

DHAKA, Feb 17, 2022 (BSS) – Leaders of Bangladesh Awami Swechasebak League (ASL) started distributing blankets among cold-hit people in northern districts from today. 

As part of humanitarian gesture, the ASL reached out to distressed people including children, elderly, widows and physically challenged people in various places of the country during the ongoing winter season of the noble initiative.

President of ASL Nirmal Ranjan Guha and General Secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu and other leaders handed over the blankets among the people at separate ceremonies held in Rangpur district, said a press release.

As per the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the ASL leaders distributed blankets among cold stricken people as the Prime Minister’s winter-gift. 

Apart from the leaders of Awami Swechasebak League General Secretary Afzalur Rahman Babu said, “I always want to stand by the common people, I want to work for them. I am serving the people upholding the ideology of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.”

He said the blanket distribution programme will be continued till February 20 in the region.
Earlier, the ASL central leaders also distributed blanket among cold hit people in other districts.
