DHAKA, Feb 15, 2022 (BSS)-Agriculture Minister Dr M Abdur Razzaque today said that a well accepted Election Commission (EC) will be formed with the names so far received by the search committee.

“Although the BNP has so far not recommended any name to the search committee, I am hopeful that a well accepted EC would be formed,” he said.

The minister made the comment while responding to a query from a journalist after attending a view-exchange meeting with the officials of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) Sylhet regions at Sylhet Circuit House this morning.

“We hope that we will get a powerful EC as the search committee will submit the names of some eligible and dignified persons for the formation of EC,” he added.

The newly formed EC will hold free and fair elections according to the expectations of the nation, which would be also praiseworthy throughout the world, said the minister.
