DHAKA, Feb 12, 2022 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has

arrested the fugitive pickup van driver from the capital's Mohammadpur
bus stand area who hit and fled the spot killing five brothers in
Cox's Bazar.

  The driver was Sahidul Islam alias Saiful Islam, 22.

   On Friday night, two separate teams of RAB headquarters and RAB-15
raided the capital's Mohammadpur bus stand and detained the accused
driver.

  Khandaker Al Moin, Rab's Legal and Media wing director, has
confirmed the matter today.

  RAB official said Sahidul Islam alias Saiful Islam has no driving
license but he was engaged in driving various types of vehicles over
the two years.

   Five brothers were killed of a family as a pickup van ran them over
on the Cox's Bazar-Chattogram highway in Dulahazara Malumghat area
under Chakaria upazila of the district on Tuesday last.

  Later, Sushil Plabon, one of the deceased brothers, filed a case
with Chakaria Police Station in Cox's Bazar to this end.
