DHAKA, Feb 2, 2022 (BSS) - Bangladesh Chhatra League, student wing of ruling Awami League, today announced a partial committee for 18 dormitories of Dhaka University naming president and general secretaries after two days of hall council.

The committee has been announced through press releases, signed by BCL central president Al Nahean Khan Joy, general secretary Lekhak Bhattacharjee, DU unit president Sonjit Chandra Das and general secretary Saddam Hussein.

Newly elected presidents and General Secretaries of BCL different hall units are:  Shahidul Haque Shishir and Muhammad Hossen (Haji Muhammad Muhsin Hall), Mehedi Hasan Shanto and Mahbubur Rahman (father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall), Mariam Zaman Khan Sohan and Siam Rahman (Master da Surya Sen Hall), Kamal Uddin Rana and Rubel Hossain (Shaheed Sergeant Zahurul Haque), Reazul Islam and Munayem Shahriar Moon (Sir AF Rahman Hall), Azharul Islam Mamun and Hasibul Islam Shanto (Muktijoddha Ziaur Rahman Hall),   Sajibur Rahman Sajib and Abu Yunus (Bijoy Ekattar Hall), Sumon Khalifa and Lutfur Rahman (kabi Jasimuddin Hall),  Tanvir Sikder and Mishat Sarkar (Salimullah Muslim Hall).

 The presidents and General secretaries for the rest of the halls are: Kajal Das and Atanu Barman for Jagannath Hall, Anwar Hossain Naeem and Abu Hasib Mukta for Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall, Zahidul Islam and Sharif Ahmed Munim for Shahidullah Hall, Enayet H Manon and Imdadul Hasan Sohag for Amar Ekushey Hall, Atika Binte Hossain and Antora Das for Ruqayyah hall, Khadija Akhtar Urmi and Nusrat Rubaiyat Neela for Shamsunnahar Hall, Kohinoor Akter Rakhi and Sanjida Yasmin for Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Hall, Razia Sultana Kotha and Jannatul Hawa Akhi for Bangladesh Kuwait-Maitri Hall, Puja Karmakar and Rima Akhter Dolly for Begum Sufia Kamal Hall unit.

“There will be no space for drug dealers or any kind of wrongdoers inside the hall as we all are determined to work together from now against such activities and to establish a education friendly atmosphere inside the hall”, said newly elected General Secretary of BCL Haji Muhammad Muhsin Hall unit Muhammad Hossen.  

There will be no grouping anymore between the leaders and activists of BCL and every activist and leaders will work together for the welfare of general students, he added.            

The last DU hall Council was held on November 26 in 2016 and the hall committees were formed in December 2016. The one-year term of the committee ended in December 2017.
