DHAKA, Feb 1, 2022 (BSS) - The Religious Affairs Ministry today

urged the intending pilgrims to beware of Hajj-related scams during
getting registered for going to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.

  "The registration process for Hajj is yet to be started due to the
ongoing Covid-19 situation. But it has been informed that some
unscrupulous people are extracting money from the pious people by
giving false promises to send them Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj," said
a ministry statement here.

  If anyone calls or proposes for such transaction, the intending Hajj
pilgrims have been requested to inform the Religious Affairs Ministry
by dialing the phone number 01720209599, it said.

  Noting that the pre-registration activities for attending the Hajj
is currently going on under the government and private management, the
statement said the people will be informed in time by the ministry
when the Hajj activities will begin.
