FARIDPUR, Jan 30, 2022 (BSS) - Three persons were killed and two others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Boshantopur area of Rajbari district tonight.

   The deceased were identified as Md Kamruzzaman Hittu,42, president of Khalilpur Bazar Bonik Samity, Abdul Alim, 45, member of Macchar Union Parishad (UP) and Masud Moulavi,53.

   SI Asif Ikbal of Alladipur Highway police station of Rajbari confirmed it.

   The accident took place when a private car running from Rajbari was hit by a truck from the rear side near a speed breaker adjoining of Boshantopur Rail crossing at 8.05pm, leaving two dead on the spot, Ikbal said.

   Critically injured Abdul Alim breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Faridpur.

   Two bodies were brought to Alladipur Highway police station.

   Meanwhile, the truck driver managed to flee.
