Many countries want to hear Bangladesh’s development story: Dr Razzaque

DHAKA, Jan 12, 2022 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr M Abdur Razzaque today said many countries in the world now want to hear the development story of Bangladesh as the country has become a role model of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

“Many developed countries once illustrated Bangladesh as a country of famine and poverty…but now they want to hear the story of our development,” he said.

The minister, also a presidium member of the ruling Awami League, made this comment while addressing a discussion while distributing laptops, sports goods and education materials at Shahbagh National Museum auditorium here this morning.

Sheikh Russel National Shishu Kishor Parishad arranged the discussion.

During the era of Pakistan, Bangladesh was recognized as a country infested with famine and poverty, he said, adding that after the independence, many developed countries neglected the country and branded it as a bottomless basket.

The developed countries now want to hear the development story of Bangladesh as it has become a role model of development under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, he told the function.

Turning to the children, the minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has presented a beautiful Bangladesh to the new generation as they are the successor of Sheikh Russel.
