DHAKA, Jan 5, 2022 (BSS) - A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the 
University of Dhaka (DU) and Schlumberger SEACO Inc. Ltd. was signed today at 
Vice Chancellor's lounge of the university.

  According to the MoU, Schlumberger authorities will provide software 
package and technological support for development of G and G Simulation Lab 
of DU Geology Department, said a press release.

  Besides, Geologists of Schlumberger will provide training for DU teachers, 
students and researchers, it added. 

  DU VC Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman presided over the MoU signing ceremony while DU 
Treasurer Prof Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed and Country Manager of Schlumberger SEACO 
Inc. Ltd. Shahid Hossain Chowdhury signed the MoU on behalf of their 
respective institutions.

  Chairman of DU Geology Prof Dr M Aziz Hasan, Registrar Probir Kumar 
Sarkerand and some other faculties were also present on this occasion.

  Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman extended his gratitude to Schlumberger authorities for 
signing the MoU and said the students of DU Geology Department will be highly 
benefited as skilled human resources will be created by this initiative.

  This MoU will play an effective role to achieve Sustainable Development 
Goals by 2030, he added.
