LALMONIRHAT, Dec 29, 2022 (BSS) - Two persons were killed when Indian Border Security Force (BSF) reportedly opened fire near Barakhata Dolapara border in Lalmonirhat's Hatibandha upazila early today.
 
They were identified as Monglu Mia of Fakirpara village and Sadik Hossain of Dolapara village under Barakhata union of Hatibandha upazila.
 
Confirming the incident, Hatibandha Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Shah Alam a team of BSF opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi people when they went to the border area to bring cattle from India.
 
Monglu and Sadik received bullets and succumbed to their injuries after the other members of the group brought them back to their respective houses, said Sadik's elder brother Humayun Kabir.
 
Shah Alam said the bodies were sent to the local hospital morgue for autopsy.
