DHAKA, Dec 28, 2022 (BSS) - Chairman of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Waseqa Ayesha Khan, MP, has said Bangladesh is moving forward on the path of prosperity with the non-communal spirit shown by the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

"Responding to the call of Bangabandhu, people united and joined the great Liberation War shoulder to shoulder. In the independent Bangladesh, people of all religions are practicing their respective religious norms freely with due respect. This is a big achievement of Bangladesh," she said.

Waseqa, also Awami League (AL)'s finance and planning secretary, said these while addressing a cash-money distributing ceremony among 36 Christian families of Karnaphuli upazila in Chattogram on the occasion of Christmas festival on Sunday last, said a press release here today.
 
She called upon all people irrespective of caste and religion to work together for building a developed and prosperous Bangladesh in the days to come.
