Idea competition for launching OTT platform 'Eduinfotainment' begins

DHAKA, Dec 19, 2022 (BSS) - An idea generating competition titled 'OTT Platform Innovation Challenge 2022' has begun to create an innovative OTT platform based on Education-Information-entertainment (Eduinfotainment) for the young generation. 

ICT Division's Senior Secretary NM Ziaul Alam on Sunday inaugurated the competition virtually, chirred by a2i Project Director Dr Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir, said a press release. 
 
Information and Broadcasting Secretary Md Humayun Kabir Khandaker, Director of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS) AKM Ahmedul Islam Babu and a2i Policy Advisor Anir Chowdhury also attended the function, among others. 

To take part in the competition, the interested local innovators have been asked to submit their ideas to the concerned office as a proposal by January 17, 2023, added the release.

After the primary scrutinizing, a 'Boot Camp' will be organized with the 10 best idea innovators where each of them will have the opportunity to present his or her idea in details in front of the judges. 

The best idea provider or institution will be provided constant mentoring as well as Taka one crore as seed money at various stages for conducting further research and development of the proposed idea.
 
The aim of the competition is to create an OTT (over the top) platform that will have quality and sector-specific content for various sectors including education, agriculture, information and entertainment. 

The 'Edu-info-tainment' OTT platform will play a leading role in delivering the desired content to all internet users of the country, including the youth aged 13 to 40, read the release. 

Besides, this platform will also contribute significantly to creating a positive mindset of the youth towards national values.
