14-party ready to resist BNP-Jamaat's conspiracy: Amu

DHAKA, Dec 19, 2022 (BSS) - Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member and 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu today said the alliance remains prepared to resist any kind of conspiracy of BNP-Jamaat clique.

He was addressing a discussion arranged by the 14-party alliance marking the Great Victory Day and Martyred Intellectuals Day on the premises of Shikha Chirantan at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan here.

Amu said BNP has failed in its December 10 rally at Golapbagh. BNP chose the month of December to wage movement to keep people distant from celebrating the victory day, he added.

He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took risks again and again for making progress of the country. She has survived at least 19 attempts on her life but she didn't stop her struggle to uphold the Liberation War spirit and values, Amu said.

Dhaka City 14-party coordinator and AL Advisory Council Member Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya said a huge number of bombs were recovered from BNP office. 

BNP wanted to push the government in trouble but they failed to do so, he said.

AL Presidium Member Qamrul Islam said BNP doesn't respect the country's constitution.

They wanted to destroy the country's all achievement, he said. He said the anti-liberation forces are again hatching conspiracy against the country.

Workers Party General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha said if all the pro-liberation forces become united, there will be no existence of BNP in the country.

Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) General Secretary Shirin Akhter urged all pro-liberation forces to become united to resist BNP-Jamaat clique.

Dhaka South City Corporation Mayor Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh said today all pro-liberation forces under the banner of 14-aprty alliance remain united.

"The country is marching forward under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's leadership. We will eliminate those who will try to halt the country's progress," he said.

AL Liberation War Affairs Secretary Mrinal Kanti Das moderated the discussion while Jatiya Party (JP) Chairman Anwar Hossain Manju, Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua, JP General Secretary Sheikh Shahidul Islam, Gano Azadi League President SK Shikder, National Awami Party General Secretary Ismail Hossain, Ganatantri Dal General Secretary Shahdat Hossain, Tariqat Federation Chairman Najibul Bashar Maizbhandari, Jasod General Secretary Shirin Akhter, Dhaka City North AL President Sheikh Bazlur Rahman and Dhaka City South AL President Abu Ahmed Mannafi addressed it, among others.
