President receives credentials of nine envoys

DHAKA, March 23, 2022 (BSS) - President M Abdul Hamid today received credentials of nine envoys separately at the Durbar Hall of Bangabhaban here this afternoon.

All these envoys to Bangladesh are non-residents, President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin told BSS after the ceremony.
 
They are high commissioner of Nigeria Ahmed Sule and eight ambassadors - - Katrin Kivi of Estonia, Brendan Ward of Ireland, MUKANGIRA Jacqueline of Rwanda, Daniela Mariana Sezonov of Romania,  Mohammed Ahmed Salem Mohamed Rara of Mauritania, Hugo Kavier GOBBI of Argentina, Nurlan Zhalgasbayev of Kazakhstan and David Emmanuel Puig Buchel of Dominican Republic.
 
Welcoming the new envoys, the President said Bangladesh always maintain a very excellent relations with the countries, Abedin said.

Mentioning the Bangladesh's foreign policy, 'Friendship towards all, malice to none', President Hamid said Bangladesh attaches importance to developing relations with all countries of the world.
 
The envoys would work for the development of their respective countries' relations with Bangladesh during their tenure, the head of the state President Hamid hoped.
 
President Hamid, the Bangabhaban spokesman, said he assured the ambassador of their full support in fulfilling their responsibilities in Dhaka to further strengthen Bangladesh's relationship with their respective countries.
 
Secretary to the President's Office Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salahuddin Islam and , Press Secretary Md Joynal Abedin were present on the occasion.
 
Earlier on their arrival at Bangabhaban, a contingent of the horse-mounted President Guard Regiment (PGR) offered the envoys honour guards as part of ceremony.
 
The national anthems of their respective countries were also played by the army band and the ambassador made a round of inspection of the guards of honour.
