HABIGANJ, Sep 6, 2022 (BSS) - Three people were killed in separate lightning
strikes in Nabiganj and Chunarughat Upazilas here today.
 
The deceased were identified as Shafiqul Islam, hailed from Kaliarvanga
village in Nabiganj upazila, Amar Biswas, an inhabitant at Chargaon village
in the Upazila, and Shahin Mia, 17, a resident in Shaistaganj upazila.
 
District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Moin Khan Alice said Shafiqul was
struck by a thunderbolt while working in a haor near his house. He died on
the spot. He also said Amar Biswas died in another strike at Chargaon village
while working in a crops field.
 
Besides, Shahin Mia was killed in a further lightning strike at Shankhola
village in Chunarughat Upazila while working in crops field.
