SHERPUR, Sep 6, 2022 (BSS) - Two people died after being hit by thunderbolts in two separate places in Nakla upazila of the district
today.

The deceased were identified as Rafiqul Islam, 30, hailed from Hasonkhila area, and Nazmul Haque, 45, a resident in Rehar Char area in the upazila.

Locals said a thunderbolt struck Rafiqul this morning when he was working in his paddy seed bed. Rafiqul was brought to Nakla Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared him dead.

Besides, Nazmul Haque was struck by another thunderbolt in Rehar Char area when he was going to catch fish in a river in the area. He died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Nakla Thana Md Mushfiqur Rahman confirmed.
