BOGURA, Aug 11, 2022 (BSS)- A court here today sentenced a man to death for
killing his wife in Sonatala upazila of the district in 2012.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Court-3 Judge Rubaiya Yasmin delivered
the verdict this afternoon.

The convicted was identified as Sobahan Ali, 50, son of Solaiman Ali, a
resident of Sonakania village of Sonatala upazila.The court also fined him Tk
20,000.

According to the prosecution, Sobahan Ali killed his wife Sultana alias Ruma
with a big knife when she was sleeping at night over family feud at Nurul
Potal village on January 18, 2012.

The victim's mother Rokeya Begum filed a murder case with Sonatala police
station.

Police arrested Sobhan Ali as he confessed to the murder before the
magistrate.

The police submitted a charge-sheet against the accused.
