FARIDPUR, Jan 29, 2022 (BSS) - An auto-rickshaw driver was killed and another injured in a road accident on Dhaka- Khulna Highway near Dignagar area of Sadar upzalila of the district today.

The deceased auto-rickshaw driver was identified as Hiru Mir, 46, of Shovarampur village under Ambikapur union of sadar upazila.

Abdullah Al Mamun, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Karimpur Highway police station said the accident took in the area around 10 am when a truck leaving from Satkhira hit the auto rickshaw coming from the opposite direction, leaving   Hiru Mir death on the spot.

The truck has been seized by police immediately and the driver of the truck has been arrested.

The body was brought to Karimpur Highway police station and later handed over to the family members, source said.

Preparation was underway to file a case with Kotwali police station in this regard.
