Triple A Overseas sealed, fined Tk 50,000; three boxes of passports seized

DHAKA, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS)- The Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) has sealed 'Triple A Overseas' (Recruiting Licence or RL-2630), a recruiting agency in the capital, fined it Tk 50,000 and seized three boxes of passports during a raid over allegations of illegal and fraudulent activities.

The raid and mobile court operation were conducted today under the leadership of a BMET executive magistrate on the instructions of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Ariful Haque Choudhury.

During the operation, evidence of various irregularities and illegal activities by the agency was found, leading to its sealing and the fine.

Three boxes of passports allegedly collected illegally from workers bound for Malaysia were also seized and placed in BMET custody.

Minister Ariful said protecting the interests of overseas-bound workers and expatriates is the government's top priority.

"No unscrupulous recruiting agency will be allowed to take advantage of the simplicity of ordinary people and deceive them," he said.

He said strict legal action would be taken against those concerned if they tried to hold expatriates hostage by violating rules, adding that the government's zero-tolerance policy would continue.

The process of returning the seized passports to their rightful owners through legal procedures is underway.
Legal action against the concerned agency is also in progress.
