DHAKA, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS) – Prime Minister Tarique Rahman today urged students to show love and care for all animals alongside protecting nature and the environment.

“As the best of all creations, it is our responsibility to take care of plants and animals. We must show compassion towards animals and never hurt them,” he said.

The Prime Minister said this when students from different schools across the country met him at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today, said his Assistant Press Secretary Gazi Shahriar Pamir.

Tarique Rahman urged the students to plant more trees and keep their surroundings clean and free from pollution, stressing the need to develop responsible attitudes towards nature, the environment and animals from an early age.

He also encouraged them to pursue sports and cultural activities alongside their studies, including singing, recitation, drawing and playing musical instruments. He also advised them to practise Quran recitation (Qirat). 

Highlighting the importance of sports for physical and mental development, the Prime Minister said regular sports not only keep the body healthy but also help develop discipline, self-confidence, concentration and a team spirit. 

A total of 36 students and eight teachers from Puthia Girls’ High School, and 50 students and four teachers from Savar High Girls’ School visited the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban today.

Besides, 46 students and 11 teachers from Tejgaon Mahila College, and 47 students and six teachers from Shaheeduddin Sarker Academy and College also visited the parliament complex.

The students who also attended a parliamentary session during their visit expressed their excitement at getting an opportunity to meet and talk directly with the prime minister, saying his advice and guidance inspired them and the meeting would remain memorable in their lives.
