1,944 students who failed SSC now pass after rescrutiny

CUMILLA, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS) - Results of 1,944 students of Cumilla Education Board changed following the re-scrutiny of answer scripts for the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations. 

Of them, 207 students secured GPA-5 afresh, while 336 students who had initially failed were declared passed.

The revised results were published on Thursday morning, September 10, through a notice signed by Papia Akter, deputy controller of examinations at the Cumilla Education Board.

According to board officials, a total of 35,929 students had applied for re-scrutiny of 91,494 answer scripts in various subjects following the publication of the SSC results.

After the re-scrutiny process, the results of 1,944 students were revised. Among them, 207 students newly achieved GPA-5, while 336 students moved from failing to passing grades. In addition, the grades of 1,608 students were changed.

Cumilla Education Board Chairman Professor Md Ahsan Parvez said the answer scripts submitted for re-scrutiny were thoroughly reviewed in accordance with the prescribed rules and procedures before the revised results were published.

He added that students whose results changed after the re-scrutiny will be able to apply online for college admission on September 12 and 13.

The results of the 2026 SSC examinations were originally published on August 10. Students were allowed to apply for re-scrutiny of their answer scripts online from August 11 to 17.

The pass rate in the Cumilla Education Board in this year's SSC examinations was 65.42 percent.
