DHAKA, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS) – As part of the ‘Nazrul Year’ celebrations, the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy is organizing the ‘Nazrul Dance Festival-2026’ on September 12 and 13.
The two-day event, open to all, will be held at the National Music and Dance Centre of the academy at 6:30 pm. The festival will make a creative dialogue between the dance and the multifaceted creative world of Kazi Nazrul Islam.
New dance productions will explore Nazrul’s songs, rhythms, emotions, love, rebellion, the ideals of equality and the spirit of humanity through contemporary dance language.
On September 12, Cultural Affairs Minister Nitai Roy Chowdhury will inaugurate the festival as the chief guest.
Cultural Affairs Secretary Yasmin Begum will chair the event. State Minister for Cultural Affairs Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam and Policy and Strategy Adviser to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs Dr. Zahed Ur Rahman, will attend the function as special guests.
Shilpakala Academy Director General Rezauddin Stalin will deliver the welcome address while academy Secretary Mohammad Zakir Hossain will give the vote of thanks.
The second session of the programme will begin at 7:30 pm.
