Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Bangladesh delegation meets President

DHAKA, Sept 10, 2026 (BSS) - A delegation of Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Bangladesh, led by its Central President Maulana Sheikh Abdur Rahim Islamabadi, paid a courtesy call on President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today.

They met the President at Bangabhaban this afternoon and expressed their confidence in and good wishes for the President, a press release from President's Press Wing said.

At that time, they urged the President for appointing qualified Alem scholars as teachers of Islam in the country’s educational institutions.

The President reiterated the government’s commitment to religious harmony, mutual respect and safeguarding the religious rights of all citizens.

Expressing gratitude to the delegation, he said the nation would remember the contributions of Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam Bangladesh to the anti-fascist movement and the struggle for establishing democracy.
