RAJSHAHI, June 2, 2026 (BSS) - After enjoying a week-long Eid-Ul-Azha holodays with the near and dear once, people in the district have started returning to their workplaces in Dhaka and other parts of the country.

With the Eid holidays ending, the return journey of work-bound people from Rajshahi has begun. As a result, Rajshahi railway station and bus terminals are witnessing overflowing crowds of passengers.

Since Monday morning, passengers have been boarding trains, busesn and headed towards the capital Dhaka
and various districts across the country.

To ensure a smooth return journey, railway and transport authorities have taken various measures. In addition, members of law enforcement agencies are working on the ground to maintain law and order and ensuring  security of people.

Despite a significant increase of passenger pressure, no major suffering or disorder has been reported so far.

Passengers have expressed relief as most trains and buses are operating according to their scheduled timetables.

Rajshahi Railway Station Manager Ziaul Ahsan said that this Eid, there has been no major schedule disruption or accident in train operations.
The special Eid train operation program, which started on May 23, will end on June 3.

Due to the adoption of various effective steps to handle passenger pressure, this year's Eid journey has been successful and safe.

He said the trains have operated in a disciplined manner. In some cases there were delays of 10 to 20 minutes, but they were later made up.

As a result, passengers have been able to celebrate Eid and travel without any major problems.

To cope with the extra passenger pressure, railway authorities have added two extra coaches to each train, including one AC coach and one Shovan Chair coach. This has increased the trains' capacity, making it easier to transport the additional passengers.
